It’s time for my Friday Five
My favorite product, tip, event, song/book and food of the week
This is a quick wrap up of the week, what inspired me and what I think you need to know.
The first Friday Five tip is going to be all about time-blocking. Every person who I know that does time-blocking has such a clearer mind when approaching the day. I tried it this week and it really does help. I also felt more accomplished and less burned out in this week. One of my favorite bloggers recommended this handy-dandy Time Cube to keep it fun! Mine is on its way in the mail. #AmazonPrimeAlways
My newest obsession is these exfoliation pads. I am in my second week using them and they’ve brought my skin back to life. My forehead no longer looks like the Pyrenees mountains!⛰ I had no idea how much I needed to exfoliate until my doctor recommended it to me.
You can buy these charcoal-infused facial sponge 4-packs at Target for $3.99. Honestly, this has been one of the best self-care purchases that I made in the last 6 months. The best thing is it is so cheap but they really do work. My face is totally clearing up and now I know what else I need to do to make it happy.
This year I made a promise to myself to stop purchasing tickets to networking events and punking out. I traditionally do not like networking alone. Believe it or not, I am a pretty nervous person but on Tuesday; I finally went. This event was all about the Tech Space in South Charlotte. Being in a room full of subject matter experts made me realize all the things I don’t know. Why I could see how this would be intimidating; it had the opposite effect on me. I love being around intelligent people who have something different to say. This was a great event for me to realize I have a lot to learn.
“In every city, every month Tech After Five connects the tech community. We invite IT Professionals, Startups, Entrepreneurs and Service Providers to the IT Community to come together and make the meaningful professional connections.”
This book was admittedly refreshing. I listened to it via Audible while driving back and forth to D.C. and Charlotte this past month. Gabrielle narrates the book herself which add an amazing element of authenticity to the book. It was as if she was sitting in the passenger seat with me telling me anecdotal stories of her life. The book is insightful, witty and hilarious. Buy it, listen to it or read it; it will be worth it. Trust me.
One of my favorite bloggers, The Skinny Confidential, put me on to these GG Crackers. I tried to avoid trying them for months because they look gross and honestly, they are tasteless. However, I will say after eating these GG Crackers; I could feel the difference in metabolism, energy, and fullness in two days. WILD. Her article about them is perfect so I’m not going to try to top it – I’m just going to link it here.
